Services and projects / Public Sector Information ProgramOur PSI program aims to extend the accessibility of the public service information property. In line with Act XC. of 2005 on the ‘Freedom of Electronic Information’, all authorities performing a public role are liable to grant access to their public data specified by the law through their websites, free of charge and registration-free.
The above requirements and obligations must be fulfilled by central state administration authorities from 1 January 2006 on, by county governments as well as towns with a population of over 50,000 from 1 January 2007, while by other local governments and further authorities with a public function from 1 July 2008.
Apart from the obligation to ensure online access to the above data, the relevant law requires that the organizations forward their descriptive data of the available information to the central electronic register as well as to the uniform public data search system, which is meant to simplify the process of keeping records of and retrieving the information (www.kozadat.hu).
The John von Neumann Digital Library and Multimedia Centre Kht. keeps a record of the institutions that have joined the central electronic register and operates a uniform public data search system. Furthermore, it falls within the responsibility of Neumann Kht. to inform the authorities liable to join about the details of how to become part of the public data search system. Further information to the subject can be found on the website www.kozadattar.hu.
